A Girl’s Trip to Nassau, Bahamas
A four-day girls' getaway to paradise.
Does it get better than lounging under the Bahamian sun with your best friend, two beach chairs, and a stack of your most highly-rated TBR books? For me, it doesn’t... and that’s exactly what our Nassau adventure was all about. Here’s how we spent four blissful days in the Bahamas.
My Trip Overview:
Dates of Travel: April 2024
Trip Duration: 4 days
Lodging: Margaritaville Beach Resort Nassau
Carry-On: Heys Pastel 21" Carry-On
Personal Item: Popflex Delilah Duffle
Day One
Arriving In Paradise
We landed in Nassau early in the afternoon, so while we waited to check into our room at the Margaritaville Beach Resort, we dropped our bags off at the front desk and hit the pool—because, obviously, #priorities. ☀️
Where We Stayed
Margaritaville Beach Resort Nassau
We stayed in a One Particular Harbour room at the Margaritaville Resort ($437/night), which is centrally located in Downtown Nassau (right next to Junkanoo Beach) and offered gorgeous views overlooking the beach and cruise port.
Our first stop? Lunch and cocktails at the 12 Volt Bar, one of Margaritaville’s casual outdoor food spots overlooking the beach. There’s something about sipping a Miami Vice while looking out at the ocean that just says, “vacation mode: activated.” Don’t you think?
Once our room was ready, we got unpacked and soaked up the gorgeous views from our balcony. The view of the cruise ships sailing in and out of port while the sunset danced on the water was honestly one of the best parts of our hotel stay. For the rest of the trip it became my morning routine to sit on the balcony and watch the ships come into port with my coffee.
Day Two
Exploring the Island
Our second day kicked off with a casual stroll through Nassau, coffees in hand, as we soaked in the local sights. We wandered past the Government House and popped into a few cute shops.
The real fun began when we made our way to Hill St. This area is a treasure trove of Nassau’s best—shops, museums, and experiences. We visited the famous Graycliff chocolate shop and cigar factory. But by far the highlight of our afternoon was Afternoon Tea at the Graycliff Hotel, a gorgeous historic property steeped in history.
Inside the tea room, we had sandwiches, baked goods, and chocolate from Graycliff’s own chocolate factory. Afterwards we walked around the property and read our books alongside their gorgeous hand-painted tile pool—a perfect way to let all that deliciousness settle.
On our way back to Margaritaville, we detoured through the Straw Market, where local vendors sell colorful (but often very touristy) souvenirs. After a hard day of shopping and exploring, we earned some serious chill time floating along the lazy river back at the hotel, book in hand, of course.
The evening wrapped up with a carb-loaded dinner at Frank & Lola’s, where we enjoyed some delicious pizza overlooking the ocean.
Day Three
A Day Trip to Atlantis
For our third day, we decided to live out our Mary Kate & Ashley dreams and get day passes to Atlantis. We spent the afternoon cooling off in the different pools, getting adventurous on the waterslides, and checking out all of the wildlife exhibits. It was such stunning property and it felt so immersive—almost like a Bahamas version of a Disney World park.

But while Atlantis had such a fun and unique atmosphere, it was a lot more crowded with kids and rowdy than our chilled out pool back at the Margaritaville, so I am glad we opted for just a day-trip rather than staying at the resort itself. After a few hours of soaking in the sights and slides, we headed back to our hotel and enjoyed our books in the quiet hot tub!
Day Four
Fun in the Sun
Our last full day in Nassau was dedicated to pure relaxation. We kicked things off at our One Particular Harbour Pool, soaking up as much sun and reading time as possible.
Next, we made our way over to Fins Up Water Park at our resort, where we indulged in a final round of pool time, lazy river floats, and water slide thrills. It was the perfect way to wind down our island adventure.
For our final night, we treated ourselves to dinner at Café Matisse, an intimate Italian spot just a short walk from our hotel. The cozy ambiance and delicious Carbonara made it the perfect setting for our farewell dinner.
Pro tip:
Make reservations in advance to snag a table in their romantic outdoor courtyard—it’s a vibe.
Four days in Nassau flew by in a blissful blur of sunshine, good food, and even better memories. Until next time, Bahamas! 🌊🍹
